During the course of the 4-year MD program, students are engaged through regular social activities which promote greater interaction with faculty and education staff. Activities are planned and themed along major local and US events and national holidays, such as Lunar Chinese New Year, Independence Day and Thanksgiving.
The Foundations course, a 2-week orientation-like structured program is the first series of activities for every student. The course comprises introductory sessions of team-based learning, interactive group work and workshops led by skilled practitioners and faculty members. The two weeks of program ends with the White Coat Ceremony, which symbolizes the beginning of the medical profession for the new incoming class of students. Families and friends of the class join faculty and staff to witness the pledging of the Hippocratic Oath.
At the end of the program, students will partake in an official graduation ceremony.
