Research Interests:Pryseley Assam is biostatistician who has contributed to the development of methods for evaluating surrogate endpoints in clinical trials, with focus on event-time endpoints. His research interests also extend to longitudinal and multivariate data, generalizability (reliability), and evidence synthesis. He has and is currently applying these methods in clinical and epidemiological studies of cancer, mental-health (schizophrenia, depression) and pain. He has authored about 12 papers. Selected Publications:Assam, P., Tchonlafi, C., Verbeke, G., and Molenberghs, G. (2011). Estimating Negative Variance Components From Gaussian and Non-Gaussian Data: A Mixed Models Approach. Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, 55: 1071 – 1085 Assam, P., Mintiens, K., Knapen, K., Van Der Stede, Y. and Molenberghs, G. (2010).
