Seema is a medical doctor with Masters in Public Health from Manipal University, India. Prior to joining CARE, she worked as a Research officer at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Singapore for over 4 years conducting research on clinical and epidemiological aspects of haemodialysis. She has presented her research in national and international conferences. Seema intends to use her clinical knowledge and analytical skills to research the unmet needs of the elderly in Singapore and hopes to contribute to enhancing the quality of their lives.

Seema’s primary research focus is on understanding how the physical health of older persons impacts on their wellbeing.

Specifically, her research interests include the following aspects of older persons’ lives in Singapore

1. Correlates of physical activity and sedentary behaviour
2. Prevalence and determinants of the use of digital technology
3. Normative values of walking speed
4. Assessment of functional limitations (oral health, visual acuity and hearing status)
