Population aging is a global phenomenon, and one that is extremely relevant across Asian economies. A promising approach to mitigate the impact of aging on health ecosystems is to implement policies that prioritise prevention, early detection, and the management of chronic diseases. This entails shifting the balance towards the provision of more care and support in the community, and clear processes to implement these models in a sustainable way.

The talk by Dr Louise Lafortune will provide insights into community-based interventions for the ageing population, and their resource and regulatory implications. Dr Lafortune will be sharing her insights from ongoing work on the Social Return on Investment of Age Friendly Communities and asset-based models to foster ageing well in the community.
