This application is designed and built for learners. Utilizing technology as the enabler, the ePSRL Management System is an electronic learning management platform that enables learners to (i) evaluate their perceived level of self-regulated learning (SRL), (ii) learn self-regulated learning skills and (iii) practise self-regulation in courses that leverage on the platform in the course of their study.
While learners rely on their own to be self-regulated in study previously, technological advancement now makes it possible to facilitate the learning process by guiding, monitoring, sustaining and improving the SRL processes in each learner. The ePSRL Management System documents and captures the SRL processes practised by each learner. Through the documentation process, learners are directed to practise the meta-cognitive aspects of SRL where they reflect about their thinking on the content knowledge, task knowledge and strategic knowledge with the aim of regulating their strategies and learning emotions to maximize learning in different learning environments. It helps to guide, monitor, sustain and improve self-regulation in the learning journey.
With the intervention of technology, students would be better trained in SRL and be able to practise SRL more effectively using the ePSRL Management System, as compared to the previous usually lonely endeavour in the exercise of SRL.
