Understanding dedifferentiation in Drosophila neural lineages

Synopsis:

The ability of cells to stably maintain their differentiated status is essential for their function. Neurons maintain their terminally differentiated fate via the action of specific transcription factors. We investigate the interplay between two transcription factors Nerfin-1 and Scalloped in the Drosophila medulla neurons using DamID. In addition, we explore whether tumours which arise via dedifferentiation is specifically dependent on amino acid metabolism.
