About Lien Centre for Palliative Care

The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (“LCPC”), housed within the Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore, aims to be the premier palliative care research and educational Centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation, strategic collaborations with the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the broader Singhealth Institutes, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.

To meet the goals of the Centre, LCPC is recruiting faculty members at the Assistant Professor level. LCPC is seeking scholars whose goal will be to develop independent research agenda and work with existing scholars on ongoing projects.

Opportunities also exist for expanding collaborations with researchers at Duke University, USA and with other palliative care institutes worldwide. Clinician scientists will be eligible to apply for a joint appointment within the Department of Palliative Medicine or other relevant departments within the National Cancer Centre and may split their time between research and clinical duties.

This position represents an outstanding opportunity to become a high impact palliative care researcher in Singapore.
 

Areas of responsibilities include:

  • Generate an independent research agenda.
  •  Collaborate on existing research projects.
  •  Assist with evaluations of education programs.
  • Provide mentorship to junior faculty, clinician investigators, and/or students.
  •  Help to forge collaborations with relevant departments and researchers within Singhealth and the broader palliative care community in Singapore.
 

Job Requirements: 

  • PhD degree, generally with more than 5 years’ postdoctoral experience.
  • ·Relevant research experience in palliative care and plans to pursue external research grants in efforts to establish an innovative, pragmatic and high quality research agenda in palliative care in Singapore.
  • Prior experience in palliative care research as demonstrated through grants and publications and/or delivery of palliative care education programs.
  • Drive/enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work comfortably with both clinicians and non-clinicians.
