The Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School (Duke-NUS) is unique in bringing post-baccalaureate, research-intensive medical education to Asia. It represents a truly global partnership and combines the expertise and resources of two leading universities: the National University of Singapore and Duke University, North Carolina, USA. Duke-NUS has established five Signature Research Programs (SRPs) to raise the standard and quality of healthcare and to develop novel and better strategies for treatment of diseases. The NBD Program focuses on understanding the development and function of the nervous systems and the relation of neural mechanisms in model systems to human neurological and psychiatric disorders. The research interests of the faculty members range from the development and differentiation of neurons to brain imaging, perception and behavior. The NBD programme has its home in a modern facility adjacent to the Singapore General Hospital and maintains strong basic, translational and clinical research partnerships throughout Singapore, including the National Neuroscience Institute, the Institute of Mental Health and the Singapore Eye Research Centre.

Duke-NUS Medical School is recruiting tenure-track Assistant / Associate / Full Professors at the Neuroscience and Behavioural Disorders (NBD) Programme (

Candidates with strong track record conducting internationally competitive and innovative fundamental and translational research in areas of cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience, especially in neural development, degeneration or regeneration, are strongly encouraged to apply.

The recruitment package will include an attractive full salary, generous start-up research funding as well as office and laboratory space. The successful candidate is expected to establish a collaborative and productive research team and secure competitive grants to sustain his/her research in the long term.

Job Requirements: 

  • MD, PhD or MD/PhD
  • Demonstrate a strong, proven research track record in all areas of Neurosciences.
  • Experience in grant and manuscript writing would be advantageous.
