We provide medical coverage for both outpatient and inpatient treatment under a University-specified plan as well as the option for staff to cover their dependents on the same/lower medical plan at a subsidised premium.
Under the HealthChoice programme, staff have the flexibility to claim for a range of health-related expenses up to the credits in their Flexible Spending Accounts. These expenses includes staff’s share of their dependents’ annual premium for the medical insurance, health screening, dental care, fitness programmes, healthcare equipment and recreation activities.
Staff are entitled to 14-28 days of annual leave depending on the level of appointment and length of service. Staff are eligible for a maximum of 14 days of medical leave or up to 60 days (if hospitalized) per calendar year. To provide greater flexibility, staff may be entitled to take additional leave including child-care leave, examination leave, marriage leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, etc.
Faculty and Research staff are entitled to 60 days of academic leave in a year to participate in conference, seminar, workshop, research and fieldwork.
The staff are provided with a 24-hour worldwide insurance cover against events such as death, permanent disablement and illness arising out of or in the course of employment.
