Director's Message
Welcome to the Neuroscience and Behavioural Disorders (NBD) Programme.
Our programme comprises of faculty with deep expertise in brain development, neural degeneration and regeneration, mental health, and vision science. Supported by sophisticated infrastructures, from advanced genome editing and stem cell technology to molecular imaging, neural function and animal behaviours, our program investigators strive to uncover how our brain develops and how it undergoes degeneration and to develop ways to restore neural function.
Collaborating with the clinical faculty at Singapore General Hospital, the National Neuroscience Institute, the Institute of Mental Health and the Singapore Eye Research Centre, the Programme forms the hub of neuroscience in Singapore with a strong footing in neurodegenerative diseases, cognitive disorders, and retinal diseases. Our ultimate goal is to translate our discoveries into diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for brain disorders like autism, Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
NBD faculty are highly engaged in the education and training of medical and graduate students as well as postdoctoral scientists. We aim at cultivating the next generation of neuroscientists.
Thank you for your interest in our research and training opportunities.
