Study suggests persistent childbirth pain increases risk of postnatal depression

Duke-NUS student, Ms Emma Du Wei, made a splash at this year’s World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA) in Hong Kong. A press release was distributed on her poster, which presents her third-year research project on the increased risk of postnatal depression with persistent childbirth pain. This study was conducted at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, under the mentorship of Professor Alex Sia and Dr Ban Leong Sng.
