Dean's Message
I am pleased to present this first issue of "Alumni Matters", the official Duke NUS alumni e-newsletter. I
am reminded when Duke Medical Alumni Association's former president, Dr Dale Shaw once said to me,
"Always remember that alumni are our most enduring asset". And he is absolutely right.
Since our first MD class graduated in 2011, the total number of our alums has finally exceeded 100.
Despite being a small group, your feedback and suggestions are immensely valuable as we strive to
broaden and enrich the alumni experience, even long after you graduate. I encourage all Duke-NUS
alums to support and participate in the programs and initiatives of our Alumni Relations Department as
well as the Duke-NUS Medical Alumni society.
