For one evening on 6 March, the Atrium and Amphitheatre of Duke-NUS transformed into an intimate setting befitting a family gathering. This was no ordinary reunion. It was a momentous occasion that brought together board and leadership members from Duke University and the National University of Singapore, Duke-NUS’ parent universities, along with leadership from the School and its academic medicine partner SingHealth—making the evening, truly, a family affair.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Duke-NUS launched a new tradition aimed at fostering a deeper sense of community and collaboration among its alumni. On 4 March 2025, esteemed alumni, faculty, and leaders gathered for the inaugural Alumni Appreciation Dinner at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront. The evening brought together 100 distinguished guests and featured the presentation of the Duke-NUS Medical Alumni (DNMA) Appreciation Awards and the Distinguished Alumni Awards.
CoRE marked its 10th anniversary with a conference on evolving healthcare regulation. Experts discussed AI innovations, precision medicine, and real-world evidence, emphasizing patient safety and policy adaptability. Collaborative efforts aim to integrate tech advancements for better health outcomes.
The journey of becoming a clinician began vibrantly for Duke-NUS’ largest cohort yet during the White Coat Ceremony, not just as a celebration but a significant milestone for the 78 aspiring doctors of the Class of 2028.
Resilience, flexibility and the courage to take on new challenges. Those were three key attributes the Class of 2024 was lauded for during their Graduation and Hooding Ceremony held at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium on Saturday, 1 June. Comprising 62 MD, 5 MD-PhD, 15 PhD and 8 Master of International Translational Medicine graduates, the Class of 2024 is Duke-NUS’ largest graduating cohort to date.
It was a different Duke-NUS that greeted staff and students as they stepped into the School on 26 April.
Crowds thronged the atrium lined with game booths; cheers rang out in the basketball court, now decked out in full festive finery with a huge tent sheltering a wide range of food stalls as loud pop music blared from speakers.
For the 4th consecutive year, Duke-NUS is ranked among Singapore's Best Employers, a ranking curated by The Straits Times and Statista. This is a testament to our commitment to making Duke-NUS a truly remarkable place to learn and work.
This special day marks the anniversary of the establishment of Duke-NUS Medical School, when a partnership between the National University of Singapore and Duke University was formed to create the first and only graduate-entry medical school in Singapore.

In a vibrant ceremony filled with anticipation and gratitude, Duke-NUS honoured an outstanding group of faculty at its inaugural Distinguished Professor Recognition Ceremony. Held on Friday, 17 January, at the Khoo Teck Puat building, the event showcased the School’s commitment to excellence during its landmark 20th anniversary year.
On the milestone occasion of its 20th anniversary, Duke-NUS heralded an unprecedented philanthropic achievement, securing more than S$30 million in gifts and pledges towards student financial aid and advancing cutting-edge research. The gala, held at THE EDITION on 11 January, brought together more than 300 distinguished guests including the Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, to celebrate and support the School’s advancements in medical research and education.
