He received his doctorate degree from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and completed postdoctoral training at The Rockefeller University. His studies have determined the mechanisms by which antibodies confer protection or drive pathogenesis, leading to the development of engineered antibodies with superior efficacy and therapeutics for the control of
IgG-mediated diseases. He is recipient of the Wellcome Trust Discover Award, the Gilead HIV Scholar Award, and the amfAR Mathilde Krim Fellowship.
