Training at the Asia PGI Academy

The Asia PGI Academy conducts and coordinates training to build and enhance pathogen genomics surveillance through practical laboratory sessions using different Next Generation Sequencing platforms and bioinformatics.

We partner with a range of global, regional and Singapore-based technical experts to deliver this training.

Viral Whole Genome and Metagenomic Sequencing Training
September 2023

The first Asia PGI Academy training workshop took place from 20^th-27^th Sept 2023. It was a close collaboration with trainers from the ARTIC Network in the UK.

Participants were exposed to the use of the portable sequencing technology, Oxford Nanopore. The workshop included both wet and dry lab training on Influenza amplicon-based and metagenomics workflows.

The workshop also offered a unique opportunity for regional participants to interact and build a close professional network with pathogen genomics experts and participants from across the Asian region and world.
