Duke-NUS Dean, Thomas Coffman congratulates Brian O’Dwyer, CognaLearn’s Commercial Founder and Executive Chairman, on this milestone

On 29 January 2016, CognaLearn signed a patent license agreement to use and develop learning technologies pioneered at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS). The signing of this agreement represents a significant step in the development of CognaLearn and the spread of innovative learning technologies and methods.

The Centre for Technology and Development (CTeD) at Duke-NUS successfully launched CognaLearn, the first internally incubated company at Duke-NUS, which is devoted to applying cognitive science to help people learn better and faster. CognaLearn will apply Duke-NUS’ patent-pending learning methodology, InteLearn™, to improve learning outcomes and productivity. The initial areas of commercial focus are to provide proprietary methods and educational content for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and in continuing medical education.

CognaLearn was conceived at Duke-NUS by Associate Professor David M. Epstein, Director of CTeD, Professor Ranga Krishnan former Dean of Duke-NUS (Academic Founder of CognaLearn) and Brian O’Dwyer, CTeD’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Learning Technologies and Methods (Commercial Founder and Executive Chairman of CognaLearn).
