[CCSD Research Masterclass Webinar] Convergence Science: Bridging Engineering, Medicine, and Biomedical Innovation (27 Nov 2025)

Associate Professor Tan Yen Nee is the Program Anchor of the ACE-in-Grants program at the Centre for Clinician-Scientist+ Development (CCS+D), Duke-NUS, where she provides grantsmanship advisory to improve the quality of grant applications for NMRC talent development and new investigator grants. She obtained her PhD from MIT and NUS under the Singapore-MIT Alliance Scholarship and has previously held appointments including Professor of Sustainable Materials and Nanobiotechnology at Newcastle University (UK), Principal Investigator at the Newcastle Research & Innovation Institute, and Founding Head of the Biomimetic and Biomedical Materials Programme at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, A*STAR. Her multidisciplinary research bridges engineering, medicine, and materials science to develop Nature-inspired nanomaterials for biomedical diagnostics and nanomedicine. She holds 18 patents on nanobiotechnologies for biosensing/imaging, drug screening, nanotherapeutics, antimicrobials, and biopharmaceutical applications, and is the recipient of more than 15 international scientific awards, including the Molecular Systems Design & Engineering (MSDE) Emerging Investigator Award (UK, 2020).
