Showcase on 'PROMISE' Project @ NUS National Day Observance Ceremony and Teh Tarik talks Closing Ceremony
Showcase on Prescription Medication Label Improvement for Singaporean Elderly (PROMISE) @ NUS National Day Observance Ceremony and Teh Tarik talks Closing Ceremony.
Dr Rahul Malhotra, together with his team members, represented Duke-NUS CARE at the NUS National Day Observance and Teh Tarik talks Closing Ceremony. His research "PROMISE" was one of the 12 projects selected for the special showcase.
PROMISE aims to provide the evidence-base for developing and implementing easily understood, context-and culturally-appropriate prescription medication labels for elderly Singaporeans. This study will capture perspectives on prescription medication labels from multiple stakeholders in the primary care setting, using a mixed-methods approach.
PROMISE will improve healthcare for elderly Singaporeans by providing actionable information on the challenges the elderly face with medication labels and propose viable solutions such as Singapore-specific pharmaceutical pictograms.
Expected findings will have immediate translational impact and inform ongoing initiatives toward a National Pharmacy Strategy in Singapore. Recommendations from PROMISE may also be useful for health systems serving elderly populations globally.
