Talking Point - Why Do We Have Lonely Deaths?

Up to 75 bodies are unclaimed in Singapore, every year. Why do we have lonely deaths? And with a rise in single households, could you be at risk of dying without anyone knowing?

In this episode of Talking Point (Mediacorp TV - Channel 5), Steven Chia interviewed CARE's Centre Director Associate Professor Angelique Chan who shared that the percentage of lonely elderly has increased from 25% in 2006 to 50% in 2019. Interestingly enough, they may not be physically be living alone but why is there an increase in the number of people dying alone?
