The Third Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence Governance for the Healthcare Sector in Singapore

14 August 2025
9AM to 5PM SGT

Over the course of two earlier healthcare AI roundtables jointly convened by the Health Regulation Group of the Ministry of Health, Singapore and CoRE at Duke-NUS, senior leaders and experts from across Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem came together to discuss the governance and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical settings. The first roundtable established a shared understanding of opportunities and challenges presented by AI in healthcare, highlighting key enablers such as strong leadership, risk-based regulatory approaches, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The second roundtable built on these insights, focusing on the translation of principles into practice through the development of practical frameworks, including the AI in Healthcare Guidelines (AIHGLe) Version 2.0, which was developed in close consultation with healthcare institutions, government agencies, and academic partners.

As a continuation of these efforts, the upcoming third roundtable will focus on the operationalisation of AIHGLe 2.0 in smaller and lower-resourced healthcare organisations. Recognising that these organisations face unique challenges in adopting and sustaining AI solutions, this roundtable aims to develop a best practices toolkit that provides practical, actionable guidance across the AI lifecycle, from pre-deployment validation and risk assessments, through safe deployment, to ongoing post-deployment monitoring. By drawing on real-world experiences and challenges faced by diverse healthcare providers, this roundtable seeks to support the meaningful and safe integration of AI in clinical operations, ensuring that the benefits of AI are accessible and responsibly managed across all levels of the healthcare system.
