Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Recognise palliative care needs early and integrate a palliative approach into primary care for patients with serious illness and their families.
- Assess and manage common symptoms and challenges in serious illness using evidence-based, patient-centred approaches.
- Apply the Serious Illness Conversation Guide and empathic communication skills to support meaningful conversations about goals and preferences.
- Deliver holistic, person-centred care by addressing psychosocial, spiritual, grief and bereavement needs.
Learners will access materials such as videos, animated presentations, readings, assessments on the Learning Management System (LMS) at their own pace and time.
Estimated duration required to complete the course: 2 hours
Learners have access to the materials for one month upon successful registration.
The online self-paced learning is supplemented by an online forum that will address any questions and comments at the end of the course.
