Welcome to SPLICES Workshop: Serious Illness and Palliative Care Education in Surgery!

Join us for this half day interdisciplinary workshop, jointly developed by the Lien Centre for Palliative Care, the Surgery Academic Clinical Program, Singhealth and the Division of Surgery and Surgical Oncology, Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Centre Singapore, where we aim to practice and apply in a safe environment some of the knowledge and skills learnt from SPLICES Online or BooST ICU asynchronous courses.

The content is presented through role play, cases and panel discussions.

Workshop Content

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

Communicate with patients and their families using the Serious Illness Conversation Guide to elicit patients' understanding, values and goals.
Apply the “best-case and worst-case scenario” tool for communicating treatment options.
Apply ethical principles using the Jonsen's Four-Box Approach to guide complex decision making.

Date: 1 October 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 8.30am - 1pm *timing subject to changes

Venue: National Cancer Centre Singapore, 30 Hospital Blvd, Singapore 168583.

Workshop Fee: SGD 327.00 inclusive of 9% GST
*Learners from Singapore healthcare institutions may be eligible for subsidies for the 2026 intake.
Eligible applicants will be informed upon confirmation of registration.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Please be informed withdrawal from course must be made in writing for refund of fees.
Request for withdrawal will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Accreditation & Certification

Continuing education credits are available for LCPC events through the Singapore Medical Council (SMC), Singapore Nursing Board (SNB), Singapore Pharmacy Council (SPC), Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) subject to their respective approvals.

Attendees are required to sign the attendance form on the day(s) of the event. CPE Points will be submitted by the Training Provider after the event.
Workshop participants will be awarded with an e-Certificate of Completion at the end of the workshop*.

*The e-Certificate of Completion will only be awarded to participants who achieved full attendance for face-to-face teachings and completion of all coursework (including assessments and evaluation)
