Quality of Care for Patients with Advanced Illness (QCPAI) 2.0
This study builds on prior work on the development, validation, and elicitation of QCPAI among patients with advanced cancer.
The QCPAI 2.0 aims to expand the validity of the QCPAI instrument across multiple advanced disease populations (cancer, heart, lung, and kidney) and healthcare settings (outpatient, inpatient, and hospice) in Singapore. It will survey 500 patients and 100 family caregivers to rigorously evaluate the instrument's measurement properties, language version equivalence, and patient-proxy response concordance. Concurrently, a Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE) survey will be conducted to establish a robust, patient-preference-weighted scoring algorithm.
The expected outcome is a standardized, value-based index that enables healthcare organizations and policymakers to objectively evaluate, benchmark, and optimize person-centric end-of-life care delivery.
