Quality of Care for Seriously Ill Nursing Home Residents

Quality of Care for Seriously Ill Nursing Home Residents

This is a study to assess quality of care in Singapore's nursing homes. We will develop and validate two locally relevant tools to measure and improve palliative care (PC) in Singapore nursing homes:

  1. PC checklist of indicators to score the PC infrastructure within each nursing home and
  2. Adapt and validate a scale to assess resident/proxy care experience in nursing homes.

The validity of these tools will be assessed by their association with resident healthcare use and outcomes. The validated tools could then be used for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of quality of care in nursing homes.
