It covers a comprehensive range of palliative care social work topics as follows:

Module 1: Social Work in Palliative Care
Module 2: Clinical Knowledge in Palliative Care
Module 3: Bio-Psychosocial Spiritual Assessment
Module 4: Loss, Grief and Bereavement
Module 5: Culturally and Spiritually Sensitive Practice
Module 6: Communication Skills
Module 7: Ethical Issues in Palliative and End-of-Life Care
Module 8: Reflective Practitioner

Completion Requirements:
Learners have to complete all assessment (formative and summative assessment), daily reflections and evaluations.
There are 2 assignments to be submitted for Module 3 and Module 8.

Registration
The next intake is scheduled to run in Apr-May 2027.
Registration for the course will begin in January 2027.

Held over a total of 9 days from April to May 2027 with 2 days of asynchronous e-learning and 7 days of face-to-face teaching sessions. There will be a 1 hour pre-course briefing conducted online over Zoom before the course commences (date TBC).

This course is highly subsidised and participants will be required to pay the full course fee under any of the following circumstances:

(i) Withdrawal from the course on or after course start date
(ii) Failure to fulfil a minimum attendance of 80% for the teaching sessions
(iii) Failure to complete and pass all prescribed coursework and assessments for the course

Accreditation
This course is supported and accredited by the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).

Certification
Course participants will receive 1 CPE credit per hour of face-to-face teaching time, and will be awarded with an e-Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course*.
*The Professional Certificate will only be awarded to participants who complete all coursework (including assessments and evaluation) and achieve at least 80% attendance for face-to-face teachings.
