Asia Pacific Ageing and Caregiving Survey

In the Asia-Pacific region, the number of people living with dementia is projected to reach 71 million by 2050, when more than half of the world's population with dementia are expected to reside in this region. Despite this rapid growth, most existing research on the burden of dementia has focused on global or national estimates, with relatively few comprehensive regional analyses specific to Asia-Pacific.

Using a web-panel based cross-sectional survey across 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, the study aims to:

1. Estimate the economic value of informal caregiving provided to persons with dementia
2. Assess affordability and accessibility of formal care services and estimate formal care costs
3. Assess prognostic awareness of caregivers
4. Estimate the prevalence of and attitudes towards use of restraints and tube-feeding in the Asia-Pacific region
