Learning Objectives:

1. Appreciate the challenges of caring for the seriously ill in the 21st century and the role of palliative rehabilitation for this population
2. Understand palliative care practice and principles in cancer and common non-cancer conditions
3. Describe the allied health approach in care of seriously ill patients
4. Recognise the common psychosocial issues related to serious illness.
5. Apply basic communication skills and SIC Guide in communication with seriously ill patients and their families.

Completion Requirements:
Learners have to complete all assessment (formative and summative assessment), daily reflections and evaluations.

Course Dates:
e-learning: 9 Sep to 9 Oct 2026
Face-to-Face teaching sessions: 24 & 25 September 2026, 8am to 5pm

The course will officially start on 9 September 2026 with the e-learning portion.Participant is required to complete the online coursework before the teaching sessions, done at your own pace.

Course Fee: SGD 200 inclusive of 9% GST

Participants will have to pay the full course fee under any of the following circumstances:

(i) Withdrawal from the course on or after course start date
(ii) Failure to fulfil a minimum attendance of 80% for the teaching sessions
(iii) Failure to complete and pass all prescribed coursework and assessments for the course

Please be informed withdrawal from course must be made in writing for refund of fees.

Accreditation
Continuing education credits are available for LCPC events through the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), subject to their respective approvals.

• Upon completion of the course, participants can receive up to 4 CPE points for each full day of face-to-face session from SNB.
• Attendees who wish to earn credits are required to sign the relevant registration form along with their CPE/CME number on the day(s) of the events.
• The attendee’s registration details will be submitted after the event and credited upon receiving respective approvals.

Certification
Course participants will be awarded with an e-Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course*.

*The e-Certificate of Attendance will only be awarded to participants who achieved at least 80% attendance for face-to-face teachings and completion of all coursework (including assessments and evaluation)

Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, Speech-Language therapist, Music or Art Therapists who are interested in learning more about working with patients and families facing serious illnesses.
