Bio

Dr Ho Vui Kian completed the local specialist training in Anaesthesiology in November 2012, and became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetics in February 2013. He completed sub-specialty training in Intensive Care in March 2015, having done 1 year of Intensive Care Medicine at the Alfred Hospital (Melbourne, Australia) under a SingHealth Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship.

The Alfred is a university attached quaternary referral center. Apart from general medical, surgical, neurosurgical, cardiology and cardiothoracic ICU work, Dr Ho also gained experience in managing heart and lung transplant patients, patients on Ventricular Assist Devices and ECMO (including ECMO-CPR and therapeutic hypothermia), as well as major trauma and burns patients. He also underwent courses and gained competency in point-of-care echocardiography. 

Dr Ho's areas of interests include trauma, burns, resuscitation and crisis resource management, critical care rehabilitation, point-of-care ultrasound and echocardiography, difficult airways and medical simulation.
