Bio

I'm currently based at KK Women's and Children's Hospital as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, having previously served as head for 11 years from May 2011 to April 2022. My primary clinical interests revolve around paediatric foot & ankle and hips, where I'm actively involved in developing screening programmes for Hip Dysplasia and advocating for the protection of physically abused children through early fracture detection. Paediatric trauma constitutes the majority of my clinical workload.

My academic journey includes a fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Children's Hospital, San Diego, and membership in the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. I'm deeply committed to orthopaedic education, holding teaching positions at various medical schools such as Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), Duke-NUS Medical School, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Previously, I served as the Associate Programme Director for SingHealth Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Programme.

Aside from my professional commitments, I dedicate time to volunteer work, including conducting clinic sessions at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore and supporting organizations like the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore. I'm also actively engaged in community projects and educational outreach programmes for Paediatric Orthopaedics. Currently, I'm focused on developing a national screening programme for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip and implementing self-learning modules for orthopaedic education through Learning Management Systems.
