Bio

Dr Mike is an associate consultant with the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery. Born in Taiwan and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr Mike has influence from both Eastern and Western cultures with language fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles for his undergraduate studies in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and attained his medical degree with honours at Duke NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore. He trained in plastic surgery in all three major healthcare clusters in Singapore.

Dr Mike’s approach to plastic surgery is first and foremost rooted in patient communication. He believes that patient understanding of any treatment, be it conservative or surgical, must be solidified with clear doctor - patient dialogue and co-decision making for the best tailored patient outcomes. This is his approach to both adult as well as Pediatric patients.

His interest in complex facial anatomy has resulted in numerous publications in highly cited aesthetic reconstructive surgical journals centered on upper / lower blepharoplasty, blepharoptosis correction, mid cheek lift and deep plane composite face lift. The anatomical principles garnered from research are also applied to Dr Mike’s approach to reconstruction of both congenital and acquired facial deformities.

Besides facial surgery, Dr Mike is also adept in breast reconstruction with microsurgical techniques, vaginal reconstruction, body contouring, and lymphedema prevention and treatment with advanced super microsurgery techniques.
