Bio
Dr. Cheng is the Head and Senior Consultant at the Department of Anatomical Pathology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Director of Computational and Digital Pathology at Division of Pathology, SGH and Singhealth Pathology Academic Clinical Programme. He specializes in haematolymphoid pathology, digital pathology, and healthcare informatics, leading digital enablement, AI and data science applications in pathology.
His academic qualifications include M.B.B.S. (NUS), F.R.C.P.A. (Australasia), F.R.C.Path (UK), and multiple Masters degrees in Bioinformatics (Johns Hopkins University), Molecular Pathology (Queen Mary University of London), and Health Informatics (University of Edinburgh).
Dr. Cheng is an Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and has authored several peer-reviewed publications in pathology, genomics, and AI applications. He contributed to the WHO Classification of Haematolymphoid Tumours and has secured grants for AI-driven pathology innovation. He is an executive member of the Asian Society of Digital Pathology (Treasurer, since 2024) and the Association of Pathologist Singapore (IT Secretary, since 2015), as well as Associate Editor of Pathology (RCPA) and International Editorial Board Member for Journal of Pathology Informatics.
