NTU-Duke-NUS Medicine Pathway

All applicants must fulfil the following requirements to be considered for an invitation to apply to the pathway:

Admissions Cycle 1
1. Achieved strong results in one of the following qualifications:
    - Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level
    - International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
    - NUS High School Diploma
    - Polytechnic Diploma
    - College Entrance Exam (SAT or ACT) for international applicants

2. Hold records of leadership experiences and community services

3. Completed the National Service (NS) obligations (if applicable)

Admissions Cycle 2
1. Achieved strong results in one of the following qualifications:
    - Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level
    - International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
    - NUS High School Diploma
    - Polytechnic Diploma
    - College Entrance Exam (SAT or ACT) for international applicants

2. Achieved strong results in Year 1 of undergraduate study

3. Hold records of leadership experiences and community services

4. Completed the National Service (NS) obligations (if applicable)

Step 1: Confirm Acceptance into NTU School of Biological Sciences
Applicants must first apply to and accept an offer from the NTU School of Biological Sciences. The list of accepted students will be provided to Duke-NUS.

Step 2: Apply Online (by invitation only)
Applications open annually on 1 June. Shortlisted applicants will receive an email invitation from the Duke-NUS Admissions team to apply for the pathway through the Duke-NUS Online Application System. A completed application will include letters of recommendation and a personal statement. This should be completed within the stipulated timeline.

Step 3: Interviews (by invitation only)
Completed applications will be reviewed, and applicants selected for interviews will be contacted by the Duke NUS Admissions team.

Step 4: Application Outcome
The application outcome will be released in mid-August. An email will be sent to applicants informing them of their outcome.

Note: The admissions process for each school is independent. Admissions to the undergraduate programme with an indicated interest in the pathway do not automatically qualify an applicant for an opportunity to apply to the track. Eligibility is determined by the outcomes of the preliminary screening conducted by the Duke-NUS Admissions Committee.

Students on the pathway are not guaranteed direct admission to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme. Students are expected to maintain the required academic performance and fulfil the final acceptance criteria stated below for admission to the MD programme.

Final Acceptance Criteria
1. Achieve a CAP/GPA comparable to that of the incoming MD class for your year of entry.

2. Achieve an MCAT score comparable to that of the incoming MD class for your year of entry and submit your scores by September of the year prior to entry.

3. Engage in meaningful clinical and service experiences throughout your undergraduate studies.

4. Students must act professionally. If concerns arise about a student’s academic performance or professional/personal development, the Duke-NUS Admissions Committee may review the case and take action, up to withdrawing the admission offer.

5. Submit the Duke-NUS MD application form, undergraduate transcripts, and supporting documents to the Duke-NUS Admissions Office by the specified deadlines.

6. Attend the MD Applicant Day and interview as part of the final evaluation.

7. Complete any additional assessments or requirements as specified by Duke-NUS or NUS.
