Welcome to Duke-NUS, Singapore’s flagship graduate-entry medical school!
Founded through a unique international partnership between Duke University and the National University of Singapore, Duke-NUS was built to advance medicine through innovation, training future clinicians to generate knowledge that improves health.
As a graduate-entry medical school, we draw diverse individuals with strong academic foundations and rich life experiences. This creates a multi-disciplinary learning environment that is intellectually rigorous, collegial, and collaborative, where students not only become skilled clinicians but also develop the capabilities to contribute as researchers, educators, innovators or system leaders. This is the essence of our “Clinician First, Clinician Plus” model.
Research is a core strength of our School. Through our Signature Research Programmes and Centres, we undertake discovery and translational work aligned with national and global health priorities. Our scale gives us agility and enables us to testbed new approaches—whether in biomedical science, data-driven medicine, or population health—and translate insights into solutions that can benefit patients and the wider healthcare system.
Our strategic partnership with SingHealth further strengthens our impact. Through the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, clinicians and basic scientists work together to accelerate discoveries, advance clinical education and improve care delivery. This integrated model allows us to bring world-class research, training and patient care into a single coherent ecosystem.
As we look ahead, Duke-NUS will continue to push the boundaries of what academic medicine can achieve—shaping new capabilities, forging deeper collaborations and contributing actively to Singapore’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise priorities.
Whether you are exploring opportunities to study, work or partner with Duke-NUS, I invite you to learn more about our people, our programmes and the work we are building for the next decade to transform medicine and to improve lives.
