Bio
Dr Tang Phua Hwee is a paediatric radiologist with keen interest in neuroimaging. She is a graduate of the National University of Singapore and did her basic and advanced radiology training in various hospitals in Singapore. After obtaining her FRCR and Masters in Diagnostic Radiology, she spent 6 months in University of California San Francisco learning the finer points of paediatric imaging, including paediatric neuroimaging and foetal imaging. She has also done a mini-fellowship in neuroradiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Centre and a visiting fellowship at Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. Research conducted after completing the Khoo Clinical Scholar’s Program has resulted in use of educational videos to help children co-operate better during MRI scans, Ultrafast MRI brain sequences for paediatric patients and an AI model to select patients suitable for Ultrafast MRI.
Dr Tang is actively involved in education and has won Outstanding Faculty (Residency) RADSC ACP Education Award as well as the RadSci ACP Programme Excellence Award for “KKH Ultrasound Training Programme for Residents” for application of best practices in education philosophies and scholarly approach in creation and improvement of training curriculum leading to high quality teaching and learning.
