ABOUT THE LECTURE

Drawing on over 10 years of leadership and professional development work in an academic medical center, this presentation will outline fundamental principles of a virtue-based model of professionalism. Personal anecdotes and concrete examples of applying these experiences in an academic department will be shared. It will conclude with challenges and potential pitfalls that each of us face in professional development.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Prof. Walter T. Lee MD MHS currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Duke University Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences and Division Chief for Head and Neck Surgery.  He is also Co-Director of the Duke Cancer Institute Head and Neck Program.  Dr. Lee completed his residency and fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic.  His academic interests are in global health and professional leadership development.
