Professor Dhaliwal is an Emeritus Professor within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, Australia.
Professor Dhaliwal is also an Adjunct Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School, National University of Singapore, based at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Previously, Professor Dhaliwal was a Professor of Biostatistics within the School of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, Curtin University (2003-2020). Professor Dhaliwal has worked as a Statistician for the past 30 years and has accumulated extensive experience, both nationally and internationally, on the practical application of Statistics/Biostatistics in a wide variety of situations. Prof Dhaliwal’s research interest includes the application of Biostatistics in the fields of Public Health Research and Clinical Research. He specializes in the development of Clinical Prediction Models in Medical Research.
Professor Dhaliwal’s primary field of research is into chronic disease research and prevention, identification of risk factors for diseases and the clinical prediction modelling for the prediction of chronic diseases or conditions from cohort studies. Professor Dhaliwal has been the funding recipient, with others, for more than 29 research grants, including 8 NHMRC project grants, 1 ARC Discovery, 2 ARC Linkage, 10 HealthWay grants and 1 International grant, total funding being is excess of $16 million. Prof Dhaliwal has published in excess of 200 journal articles (Google Scholar H-index is 46 with over 7000 citations). His publications have had a significant impact and were often the result of successful national and international research collaborations.
