Bio
Alvin Guo, PhD is Senior Research Fellow in Koji Itahana Laboratory of Tumor Suppression at Cancer & Stem Cell Biology (CSCB) program.
Dr Guo obtained his BSc and PhD at the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore (NUS). He uncovered an interesting role of NF-κB in mechano-signal transduction in p53-deficient MEFs. After joining Duke-NUS Medical School, he discovered a novel mutant p53 interacting protein BCAR1 which contributes to cancer cell invasion. Currently he is focusing on studying the role of p53 in macrophage biology, in particular iron metabolism and phagocytosis.
