Dr Lohendran Baskaran (Logen) is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at the National Heart Centre Singapore,
where he leads the Cardiovascular Systems Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (CVS.AI) lab, Southeast Asia’s
first cardiac imaging AI research lab. Since its inception CVS.AI has been successful in fostering a multitude of
collaborations with local and international institutions that have expertise in cardiology, artificial intelligence and
cardiac imaging. Dr Logen also serves as Scientific Lead of the national IMPACT-2 programme, coordinating
research across three national Cardiac CT sites, he is also the Principal Investigator of Global Pretest
Probability Study of Coronary Artery Disease (GPS-CAD), a global collaborative study now comprising data
from over 60,000 patients from countries like UK, USA, Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, India, Pakistan
and Uganda. As a passionate advocate for the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into cardiac medicine, Dr
Logen has been successful in establishing synergies with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and
industry partners both domestically and internationally. This is evident from his high impact publications with
leading cardiac researchers, that are listed above. Through pursuing collaborative partnerships with both local
and international cardiologists and researchers at institutions such as National Heart Centre Singapore
(NHCS), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in
Singapore and overseas institutions such as in USA, UK and countries in Asia, Dr Logen has been actively
presenting his findings in local and international conferences. Dr Logen’s aim is to leverage the transformative
potential of AI technologies in diagnostic tools to enhance and strengthen cardiovascular care as well as
improve patient outcomes on a global scale.
