Bio
I am a Principal Research Scientist at Duke-NUS Medical School's Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease Research Program in Singapore. My career has been dedicated to exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying liver diseases, particularly non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and drug-induced liver injuries. I hold a Ph.D. in Toxicology from the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research and Jamia Hamdard University in New Delhi, where my thesis focused on the anti-hepatotoxic potential of herbal extracts.
I have an academic background with a B.Sc. in Botany and Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology, both from Gorakhpur University. Additionally, I completed executive training at NUS Business School, earning a certificate from the Future Leadership Programme in 2023.
My research aims to bridge the gap between molecular mechanisms and clinical applications to improve patient outcomes in hepatological disorders. I have extensively studied drug-induced liver injury and the impact of metabolic syndromes on liver dysfunction. Another significant area of my research is the role of nutritional factors in the prevention and progression of liver diseases.
Throughout my career, I have held various prestigious research positions and have been recognized with numerous awards, including the SingHealth Duke-NUS Research Team Award and the Hepatoma Research Best Paper Award.
My work has been supported by significant grants from the National Medical Research Council and the SingHealth Foundation. I have published extensively in high-impact journals, providing valuable insights into liver disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic interventions. I am also actively involved in mentoring students and postdoctoral researchers, fostering the next generation of scientists in my field.
