Dr. Micah Alan Luftig is Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University School of Medicine, with secondary appointments in Medicine, Cell Biology, and Integrated Immunobiology. He is an internationally recognized leader in viral oncology, focusing on Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and its role in lymphoid as well as epithelial cancers. Dr. Luftig’s research integrates molecular virology, immunology, genomics, and metabolism, with significant translational impact in biomarker discovery and therapeutic target identification. He has published over 80 scientific articles, is an elected AAAS Fellow, and has received numerous awards for scientific excellence. He is committed to collaborative research and training, with active partnerships in Southeast Asia and a vision to expand virus-associated cancer research and mentorship at Duke-NUS.
