Bio

Dr. Regina Hoo is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Biomedical Data Science (CBDS) and the Signature Programme in Cancer and Stem Cell Biology (CSCB) at Duke-NUS Medical School. She received her PhD in microbiology and immunology and an honours Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biomedical Science) from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining Duke-NUS, Dr. Hoo completed her postdoctoral trainings in genomics and pathogen evolution at NTU Singapore. She then moved to the Wellcome Sanger Institute Cambridge, where she further developed experimental and computational strategies in single-cell biology to resolve complex tissue ecosystems and their adaptations under pathological conditions.

Driven by a strong interest in translating complex genomics and data science into clinical impact, she subsequently joined the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) as a Senior Research Scientist. At NCCS, she led the integration of experimental and computational frameworks to advance lung cancer single-cell and spatial multiomics initiatives.
