China and Covid-19: what went wrong in Wuhan? (Financial Times)
The Chinese government had formally notified the World Health Organization on January 3 that a mysterious new respiratory disease had been discovered in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province with a population of 11m. This is the first part of a Financial Times series investigating the global response to the crisis and whether the disaster could have been averted, with inputs from medical professionals, government officials and ordinary citizens in Wuhan.
