For one evening, Duke-NUS’ alumni returned not only as clinicians, researchers, innovators and educators, but as old friends coming home.

A community that keeps coming home: Duke-NUS celebrates alumni at second Alumni Reunion Dinner

Held at Sheraton Towers Singapore on 19 June 2026, Duke-NUS’ second Alumni Reunion Dinner brought together alumni from across 16 graduating cohorts, representing a growing community of over 1,000 graduates whose journeys continue to shape healthcare, research and education in Singapore and beyond.

A follow-up to last year’s inaugural Alumni Appreciation Dinner, this year’s reunion was a celebration of the people who helped shape the School, and who continue to carry the Duke-NUS spirit into clinics, labs, classrooms and communities.

The evening was attended by Mr Tony Chew, Founding Chair of the Duke-NUS Governing Board, Mr Goh Yew Lin, Chair of the Duke-NUS Governing Board, as well as faculty, leaders and members of the Duke-NUS community.

In his welcome address, Prof Patrick Tan, Dean of Duke-NUS, reflected on the many ways alumni continue to contribute to the School and the wider healthcare ecosystem. While their paths have taken them in different directions, he noted that they remain an integral part of the Duke-NUS story and a powerful expression of the School’s impact and potential.

In a presentation of new initiatives to look forward to, Alumni Affairs lead Dr Eric Cher, from the Class of 2014, unveiled an upcoming series of evening career talks. Hosted by alumni for alumni and catering to individuals across different career stages, the sessions will include Q&A segments as well as networking opportunities.

This year’s dinner also saw alumni nominate and vote for their peers who have contributed tirelessly to Duke-NUS over the years in three new award categories.

Having played a pivotal role in strengthening the alumni community, Dr Anu Pandey from the Class of 2015 took home the Exemplary Alumni Award. Meanwhile, Dr Wong Ker Yi from the Class of 2012 received the Inspiring Alumni Award for her commitment to education, mentorship and research at Duke-NUS dedication to nurturing students.

For her exceptional leadership and helping to Singapore’s healthcare landscape with her forward-thinking innovation, Dr Rena Dharmawan from the Class of 2011 was recognised as the inaugural Visionary Alumni.

As the alumni celebrated each other’s achievements, reminisced their time in medical school and captured precious new moments together at a photo booth, it was clear that while their paths may have diverged, they will forever have a home in the community they built in Duke-NUS.
