College pride on display: Duke-NUS Class of 2029 goes head-to-head in Intercollege showdown

As the sun dipped over the courtyard at Duke-NUS, students from across the School’s four Colleges laced up their sneakers and took to the atrium—not for a lesson in clinical skills, but for a different kind of challenge: the Intercollege Games.

This year’s Games featured two concurrent events: Trivia Night where students tackled fast-paced rounds of questions about pop culture, history, medical trivia, and more, and Don’t Die on Me, a competitive CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) showdown. The mix of quick thinking and hands-on skills offered students a taste of what lies ahead—intense, collaborative and purpose-driven learning.

As the Intercollege Games held its opening ceremony, the Class of 2029 posed for a group photo with Associate Professor Ong Biauw Chi, one of the Seah College Masters.

Organised as part of the School’s orientation to ease incoming students into the Duke-NUS curriculum, community and culture, the friendly Games saw teams from Duke-NUS’ four Colleges—the Benjamin Sheares, Gordon Ransome, Eugene Stead and the Seah Cheng Siang Colleges face off in a spirited showdown that fostered friendship and camaraderie.

These Colleges form the backbone of each student’s support system, with fellow College members offering advice and mentorship to bolster their professional and personal development.

With energy high and friendships forming fast, the Class of 2029 has hit the ground running—ready for the journey ahead, connected and full of College spirit.
