Bio

Dr. Bee is Head and Senior Consultant with the Department of Endocrinology at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. He is also the Vice-President of Diabetes Singapore. Dr. Bee graduated from medical school at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed his specialist training in Endocrinology at SGH. In 2008, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship by the Ministry of Health and spent the year training at the Joslin Diabetes Centre in Boston, USA. 

Dr. Bee’s main clinical interest is in managing diabetes mellitus and lipid disorders. His academic research covers broad areas, including diabetes prevention, artificial intelligence-enabled risk prediction of diabetic complications and disease registries. He established the SingHealth Diabetes Registry (SDR) in 2016, a multi-institutional diabetes database built from SingHealth’s Electronic Medical Record system. He is also the Principal Investigator of the A*STAR-funded Diabetes Clinic of the Future (DCOF) programme, which aims to develop solutions using data analytics and digital technology to personalise care and improve outcomes for the multi-ethnic diabetes population in Singapore.
