Bio

My background in molecular biology, internal medicine, clinical oncology (systemic therapies and radiotherapy) and global health has allowed me to manage patients with cancer in a holistic and inter-disciplinary manner. It has enabled me to to appreciate the utility and limitations of the various modalities of cancer treatment and the importance for continued research in areas of clinical need. Taking the above into consideration, my current focus has been on improving the integration and clinical utility of radiotherapy in treating hematological malignancies. This I do through my role as the head of lymphoma at the division of radiation oncology at NCCS and as a council member on the International Lymphoma Radiation Oncology Group (ILROG).

Through interactions with different stakeholders in my work, I have come to appreciate the importance of continued education. For sustainability, it is crucial therefore to be able to impart the clinical experience which I have gained to trainees and students. I do this by engaging in teaching and examination activities with trainees and through my role as medical education lead at the Royal College of Radiologists in the UK and as assistant editor in Clinical Oncology.
