Bio
Dr Mimi Yow is a senior consultant in orthodontics at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Oral Health Academic Medical Centre based in the National Dental Centre Singapore, and also at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Sleep Centre.
She was the recipient of the NDCS STAR award in 2007 and the SingHealth award for Outstanding NDCS Clinician in 2011. She actively participates in multidisciplinary team management of orthodontic, orthognathic, and cleft and craniofacial anomalies with malocclusions and sleep apnoea. She led the Dentofacial Deformity Programme and Dentofacial Steering Committee from 1999 to 2007 and is the current Head of the Cleft and Craniofacial Programme in the National Dental Centre of Singapore.
Dr Yow is Associate Director of the Orthodontic Residency Training Programme, National University of Singapore and Clinical Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. Dr Yow has taught dental undergraduates, and dental and medical residents as part-time faculty. She has lectured on the management of dentofacial, cleft and craniofacial deformities and sleep-disordered breathing in Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Scandinavia.
Her research interests are in dentofacial deformities, cleft anomalies and sleep-disordered breathing.
