Master Academic Clinicians

Our Master Academic Clinicians are a select group who have distinguished themselves through their clinical mastery, exemplary standards of professionalism and excellence in their scholarly activities; which range from education, leadership, research and innovation to patient safety and quality improvement.

Our Master Academic Clinicians are ambassadors for Duke-NUS and role models to our students and faculty.  We are proud of the accomplishments of our Master Academic Clinicians and appreciate their contributions to Duke-NUS, as we strive towards our vision of transforming medicine and improving lives.

Chan Choong Meng

Clinical Professor, Medicine ACP

Clinical Professor Chan Choong Meng is a highly respected renal physician and academic leader who has strengthened education and training across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre while remaining active as a teacher and examiner. He is also an accomplished clinician-researcher with an extensive publication record and has contributed to shaping national guidelines and policies, including providing expert input on chronic kidney disease for the Ministry of Health. He has held long-standing leadership roles in professional and accreditation bodies, reflecting the trust placed in him to uphold standards and shape specialist training.

Chow Wan Cheng

Clinical Associate Professor, Medicine ACP

Clinical Associate Professor Chow Wan Cheng has championed wide-ranging enhancements to Academic Medicine (AM). Her contributions include strategising and spearheading the development of the AM mission for greater convergence and synergy of clinical care, education and research to advance clinical practice and improve patient outcomes. Leveraging the clinical strengths of SingHealth institutions and Duke-NUS’ research and education capabilities, Wan Cheng has astutely built on the firm foundations of the SingHealth Duke-NUS partnership to strengthen the pipeline of academic medicine leaders, as well as to broaden and deepen initiatives to create a vibrant Academic Medicine eco-system.

Lee Kheng Hock

Associate Professor (Educator Track), Family Medicine ACP

Associate Professor Lee Kheng Hock is a visionary, patient-centred clinician-leader who has pioneered and scaled integrated care models to improve transitional care from the hospital to community. He has led multidisciplinary teams in improving patients outcomes by reducing readmissions, A&E visits and length of stay. He is also a highly respected educator and mentor who has advanced family medicine training through introducing initiatives such as social prescribing into the medical education curriculum. He continues to conduct impactful health services and medical education research through an evidence-driven approach. 

Dr Ng Chee Chin David (Academic Chair, Family Medicine ACP)

Leong Kwok Fai, Mark

Clinical Associate Professor, Emergency Medicine ACP

Clinical Associate Professor Mark Leong performs his duties with dedication, quiet humour and steady leadership. Gentle and yet firm with his residents and core faculty, as well as other colleagues, he exemplifies servant leadership. In addition, Assoc Prof Leong’s commitment to lifelong learning and teaching has led him to mentor and impart new knowledge and skills to his peers and younger colleagues, making him a role model for academic clinicians in our AMC. 

Clinical Professor Goh Siang Hiong (Academic Chair, Emergency Medicine ACP)

Lim Shih Hui

Professor (Educator Track), Neuroscience ACP

Professor Lim Shih Hui is a highly accomplished neurologist and educator, who has been recognised with national and international awards. He has led major initiatives across the Ministry of Health, SingHealth, Duke-NUS, and professional bodies. He has also contributed to shaping policies and systems, from advancing evidence-based integration of traditional chinese medicine to establishing certification standards across Asia-Pacific. His impact extends to medical education, through enhancing PACES and medical accreditation, and mentoring faculty. His leadership, integrity, and regional impact make him a role model for clinicians and students. 

Associate Professor Au Wing Lok (Academic Chair, Neuroscience ACP)

Ng Swee Lian, Ivy

Clinical Professor, Paediatrics ACP

Professor Ivy Ng is a visionary and inspirational leader who has transformed SingHealth over the past decade. Under her strategic guidance in establishing and fostering the academic medicine culture, SingHealth is, today, a leading, global Academic Medical Centre in partnership with Duke-NUS Medical School, and a healthcare cluster of choice nationally with several of its institutions consistently ranked among the best in the region and in the world. Compassion, an unwavering belief in the importance of staff well-being and engagement as well as her unstinting support for staff during challenging times are the distinctive hallmarks of her leadership. We are deeply grateful to Professor Ivy Ng for her distinguished leadership. 

Clinical Professor Thoon Koh Cheng (Academic Chair, Paediatrics ACP)

Ong Chiou Li

Clinical Associate Professor, Radiological Sciences ACP

Clinical Associate Professor Ong Chiou Li is a well-respected senior radiologist who has been instrumental in developing imaging services for patients at KKH, and setting up the radiology department. A dedicated educator and mentor, Assoc Prof Ong is committed to enhancing residency and student teaching and examinations, and radiology–pathology education initiatives. She continues to maintain a strong academic output through her publications, lectures, and clinically relevant research.

Sin Yoong Kong, Kenny

Clinical Associate Professor, Cardiovascular Sciences ACP

Clinical Associate Professor Sin Yoong Kong, Kenny is a highly regarded cardiothoracic surgeon and senior leader who has spearheaded national-level cardiac programmes and strengthened care coordination across teams. He has consistently maintained high standards in patient safety and quality improvement, from implementing systems such as After-Action Reviews and bundled care, to clinical performance monitoring to improve outcomes and value. He is also a dedicated educator and respected regional leader, who has held major roles in professional societies and contributed to training and professional development.

Clinical Professor Yeo Khung Keong (Academic Chair, Cardiovascular Sciences ACP)

Teoh Khim Hean

Clinical Associate Professor, Oral Health ACP

Clinical Associate Professor Teoh Khim Hean is a distinguished prosthodontist and pioneering clinician-leader recognised for his clinical mastery, service innovation, and compassionate, patient-centred care. He established Singapore’s only integrated Prosthetic, Speech and Swallowing Rehabilitation clinic and is a recognised expertise in maxillofacial and ocular prosthetics. Assoc Prof Teoh has delivered strong institutional and national impact through leading initiatives in service development, population oral health, modernisation of clinical capabilities, and improving access to care. He is also a committed educator-mentor and a champion of staff well-being and resilience.
