Bio
Prof Lee received her medical and advanced specialist training in haematology in Singapore and is currently a practicing haematologist, bestowed with multiple excellent service awards, outstanding clinician award and the national day public service award. Subspecialising in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, she was instrumental in the setting up of the anticoagulation consult and monitoring services to promote patient safety in anticoagulation therapy in SGH. She played a key role in clinical trials in novel anticoagulants in Singapore and the Asia Pacific. Prof Lee has been actively involved in graduate and post graduate medical education. Her interest in haematology research has resulted in more than 70 publications in peer reviewed journals. During her term as Head of Department, she has developed the Department of Haematology to acquire expertise and international repute in areas of haemato-oncology, thrombosis and haemostasis and laboratory haematology. Under her leadership as immediate past Chairman for Division of Research, Singapore General Hospital was awarded NMRC Centre Grant of $18 mil and she ensured a tight governance of research activities and high quality of research at SGH through sound policies which contributed to the successful JCI accreditation for SGH as an Academic Medical Centre.
Prof Lee actively contributed towards the international professional scenes with her roles as Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (APSTH), various subcommittee participation and teaching activities with the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). Locally, she contributed as executive committee member, treasurer and honorary secretary with the College of Physician Singapore, the past President of the Singapore Society of Haematology and Chairman of the Chapter of Haematology, College of Physician, Singapore.
