Singapore researchers discover milder COVID-19 strain, opening up new avenues for treatment and vaccine development (CNA)

Researchers in Singapore have discovered a new variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus that causes milder infections, according to a study published in The Lancet medical journal this week. Professor Gavin Smith, from Duke-NUS' Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) programme, is a senior author of the study.
